“I wasn’t planning to buy a home, but Kilifi is a good location and the price was right. Many people didn’t know about the Kenya Mortgage Refinance Scheme, so I took the opportunity to tell people about it so they can afford low-cost housing. A mortgage is a long-term commitment, but when you buy a house, after a few years the value appreciates while the loan remains relatively stable. People are often afraid of committing themselves.”

Privacy and Space

“Privacy matters to me, I take it very seriously. Once you enter the house, no one bothers you unless you have guests of your own. There is so much space, including the rooftop, and even though it’s close to the main road, it’s very quiet.”

Quality & Oversight

“You can look for ways to minimize costs, but that doesn’t mean you should jeopardize the project just to save money. It’s important for the county, together with engineers, the project manager, and the full team on site, to ensure everything is done according to the drawings.”
